My First Race

So my first race was this past Sunday (GA Half), now I will be first to admit I didn't do as well as I hoped but I am still elated. I had no idea what to expect and I really loved every minute of it.
Things I could have changed/will change for future races:
  • I could have been better prepared, I've only been running 6 months, I had no training plan and no idea what a tempo run was or any run for that matter, I just ran.
  • All but 2 runs were done on my treadmill. I need to suck it up and get outside more.
  • I got to the race late and was in line for the porta potty when the race started, doh
  • The only running shoes I own are Reebok runtones... They hurt my feet, BADLY! Sorry Reebok, thumbs down.
With all of that said I really did have a blast. Here are the stats:

I really wanted to be sub 2, but again this was my first. I am looking forward to really pushing forward and seeing how much I can improve. The weather was perfect, and the spectators were so motivating, it was truly a memorable experience and I could not have asked for a better first race memory.

My medal, sorry, I don't know how to turn it around, I'm sooo computer illiterate :(

I have no pictures of the race it was me and only me there, like I said I have a 3 yr old and 9 month old, hubby was with them. So, therefore, no pics, I'm waiting for the race pics but they're not ready yet? Does it take this long normally?!?!
So I'll leave you with these awesome pics instead!

Happy Friday, it's going to rain all weekend here, Hope your weekend is filled with better weather than mine!

It will get better... I promise!

Just as the title states, this blog will get better. I don't have a lot of time at the moment, however, I have been thinking of begining this blog (and posting in my head) for quite some time. I felt I just needed to start and get it out there and hopefully the sense of obligation that is sure to come will help make this blog great, or at least semi-interesting, to me. I'm still basking in post first-ever race glory. It was amazing everything I hoped it to be and post #2 will be the race recap. As for right now I want to say welcome and I'm sick, wahhhh. Sick or not I am going to run as soon as I get Mr. T his juice and get him to sleep.
